Senior Parliamentary Researcher
James Wild, MP for North West Norfolk, is looking for a Senior Parliamentary Researcher to join his busy Westminster office. The successful candidate will support James’s Parliamentary work, particularly in his role as Shadow Minister of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent written and verbal communicator, with media nous and sound political judgement. A strong interest or background in DCMS policy issues is desirable but what is key is strong research skills, the ability to organise their own workload, and plenty of initiative.

Responsibilities will include:
• Advising across James’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport policy areas (digital, media, creative industries, and tourism)
• Drafting speeches, media quotes, and articles
• Forming stakeholder relationships
• Producing social media content
• Undertaking research projects and working up policy proposals
• Assisting with meetings and visits
• Dealing with complex queries, including drafting letters and leading on policy casework
• Maintaining and utilising knowledge of relevant legislation, including impact on the constituency
Prior experience of Parliament is desirable, but not essential.
Some travel and work outside usual office hours may be required.
