The Role
Our VFX Operations Manager plays a key role in managing our VFX team. You work as part of the Operations team, playing a key role in the operational management of our VFX artists. Communication and accuracy is vital in this role and you are committed to building strong relationships, ensuring that we create the best creative teams at Untold Studios. By being proactive, forward thinking and having excellent attention to detail, you help ensure Untold Studios projects are resourced with the best available crew.
Working closely with the Head of Operations, Executive Director of Operations and Heads of VFX, you will help manage the allocation of projects across Untold, ensuring we achieve our operational goals, alongside providing high talent density and clear direction and support for artists career opportunities.
We are committed to supporting your ongoing development. We will work closely with you to establish a personal progression plan. You are never on your own.
As a VFX Operations Manager at Untold Studios, your responsibilities include:
Drive overall resource decision making.
Identify and solve resource and operational challenges within the VFX team.
Resolve resourcing conflicts alongside and for production.
Ensure the artist team is fully utilised month to month, working into the leadership team to guarantee monthly revenue and capacity targets are achieved.
Manage freelance spend within the VFX team.
Day to day management of Resource Managers and Resource Coordinators, ensuring delegation of tasks, efficiency of working and ensuring a pathway to growth and improvement.
Overall management of CETA and ensuring that data is accurate and up to date.
Develop strong relationships with artists, producers and creative teams at Untold Studios.
Aligning artists with suitable opportunities (projects, challenges, strategic partnerships and relationships).
Assist in personal development and appraisals of crew, alongside Heads of VFX.
Identifying and forecasting key hires and roles in the VFX team.
Performance management of the artist team with the Heads of VFX.
Identifying training and mentoring needs within the VFX team.
Overall management of absence, managing allocation within artist teams whilst securing utilisation targets are hit.
Building Untold Studios freelance network.
Working effectively as a part of a team.
The ability to multitask, prioritise and manage your workload as required.
Exploring opportunities to further your skills.
Be an ambassador for Untold Studios, through every interaction with artists and prospective artists.
