PPA Teacher | Wandsworth
A vibrant primary school in Wandsworth is seeking a creative and reliable PPA Teacher to join the staff team from January 2026. The successful PPA Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality PPA lessons that follow class teachers’ long-term plans, ensuring continuity of learning across the school. This PPA Teacher role in Wandsworth will involve delivering literacy, maths and foundation subject sessions, providing clear feedback to class teachers and contributing to curriculum development. Candidates should be ready to start January 2026 and will take part in induction activities in the weeks running up to January 2026.

The PPA Teacher will be expected to manage classes effectively, adapt resources to meet a variety of needs and maintain accurate records of learning during PPA time. Working in Wandsworth, the appointed PPA Teacher will liaise regularly with year-group teams and phase leaders to ensure pupils’ progress is sustained and that PPA provision is consistently excellent. We welcome PPA Teacher applicants who bring energy, strong subject knowledge and a commitment to teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Plan sequenced PPA lessons that align with class teachers’ medium-term plans.
- Deliver engaging sessions across core and foundation subjects during PPA cover.
- Provide detailed handovers and formative feedback to class teachers following PPA sessions.
- Manage classroom routines and behaviour, ensuring learning time is maximised.
- Contribute to resource development and share ideas at planning meetings.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent classroom experience and strong subject knowledge relevant to a PPA Teacher role.
- Confident behaviour management, excellent organisational skills and clear communication.
- Ability to adapt planning to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups and maintain continuity across Wandsworth year groups.
- Enthusiastic about collaborative planning and professional development, with availability to start January 2026.
