Position Overview
The Data Analyst will support Advania UK’s Finance team by transforming financial and operational data into trusted insight. You will build and maintain repeatable reporting and analytics solutions that improve visibility of performance (e.g., revenue, margin, cost, NRR, and forecasting KPIs), enable faster decision-making, and strengthen governance over finance data.
Salary & Benefits
The budgeted salary for this role is between £45,000 - £50,000 a year, depending on experience.

Hybrid working
We recognise the benefits that remote and flexible working brings.
We operate a hybrid working policy that allows our employees to balance time in the office and time from home. Each team within our organisation can decide how to implement this policy. If you have any questions after applying, please reach out to our recruitment team.
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear requirements, metrics definitions, and deliverables.
Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models and dashboards, including robust measures and drill-through analysis to support month-end and performance reporting.
Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, join, and validate data from multiple sources; document assumptions and business logic.
Build scalable data transformations and pipelines in Databricks using Python and PySpark to cleanse, standardise, and enrich finance datasets.
Implement automated data quality checks (reconciliation, completeness, variance analysis) and investigate anomalies with Finance and system owners.
Create efficient Excel-based analysis and templates for ad-hoc finance work (e.g., pivots, Power Query, modelling), reducing manual effort through automation where possible.
Maintain clear documentation for datasets, calculations, and reporting outputs to ensure transparency and auditability.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across Finance, including standardising KPIs and improving reporting cadence and self-service access.
Build and maintain business-wide commercial reports and dashboards, providing insight across the full sales lifecycle (pipeline, bookings, revenue, margin, and performance KPIs).
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Essential
Python experience for analysis and automation.
Familiarity with Pandas library.
Hands-on experience with Databricks, including PySpark for large-scale transformation and processing.
Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
Power BI development experience (data modelling, DAX, Power Query, report design, and performance optimisation).
Desirable
Experience with finance/ERP systems and data warehouses/lakehouses.
Exposure to Azure data services and modern analytics platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Synapse)
Past experience of working within a finance department would be desirable.
