Underwriting Audit Manager
London | Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
Salary: Up to £115,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Our client is a well-established specialist commercial insurer operating across the Lloyd's and London Market. Backed by a global insurance group, they have built an excellent reputation for underwriting expertise, strong governance and operational excellence. As they continue to invest in their underwriting controls framework, they're looking to appoint an experienced Underwriting Audit Manager to lead this important function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Underwriting Audit or Underwriting Controls professional to step into a highly visible leadership role. You'll be responsible for managing the Underwriting Audit function while leading and developing a team of three Underwriting Auditors , making previous people management experience essential.
Working closely with senior underwriting leadership, you'll ensure a robust underwriting control framework is maintained, oversee the underwriting audit programme and help drive continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach and develop a team of three Underwriting Auditors.
- Manage the underwriting audit programme across the business.
- Strengthen and develop the underwriting controls framework.
- Build strong relationships with Heads of Underwriting and senior stakeholders.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to senior committees.
- Monitor audit actions through to completion.
- Oversee underwriting authorities and governance processes.
- Support regulatory, compliance and wider underwriting oversight activities.
- Contribute to business and operational improvement projects.
We're looking for an experienced insurance professional with:
- Previous management experience leading an Underwriting Audit or Underwriting Controls team.
- A strong background in Underwriting Audit, Underwriting Controls, Underwriting Governance or Underwriting Operations .
- Experience gained within the Lloyd's and/or London Market .
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to influence senior underwriting leaders and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Salary up to £115,000
