Transport Coordinator

Ladywell, Greater London
  • Working closely with the Depot Managers and Operations Supervisors to act quickly where problems arise, contributing to an open system of communication to ensure the consistent treatment of problems
  • Assisting the depots in ensuring vehicles and associated equipment are maintained to a high standard in keeping with both Statutory and Company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety Procedures within the transport environment
  • Ensuring adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures
  • Being fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures
  • Completing quarterly ethics modules as advised by the Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
  • Fully complying with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE)
  • Engaging with the Sales Team and Hire Controllers to apply transport costs competitively and in line with current market trends
  • Regularly reviewing and engaging with external hauliers to achieve competitive pricing
  • Coordinating internal transport between depots effectively, reducing costs
  • Identifying areas of opportunity from Company Management Accounts to save costs on transport and fuel

    To be successful in the role you should have:
  • Previous experience in the similar role
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • An understanding of driving hours and laws
  • An understanding of the requirements of loading and unloading of HGV vehicles
  • Good communication skills by phone and email
  • Good organizational skills

    The role is a part of Carrier's company - SLD Pumps & Power which is one of the UK's leading suppliers of pumps and generator rental equipment. Currently we are looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Livingston.
