Job Description
Head of Compliance
Your new company
You will be joining a respected and forward-thinking insurer with a strong market presence and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The organisation prides itself on maintaining the highest regulatory standards and fostering a culture of robust governance. As the business continues to grow, it is now looking to appoint a highly capable Head of Compliance to lead its regulatory strategy and ensure continued alignment with FCA expectations.
Your new role
As the Head of Compliance in London, you will take full ownership of the firm’s compliance framework, ensuring it remains effective, proportionate, and fully aligned with FCA requirements. You will act as the primary point of contact for all regulatory matters, providing strategic guidance to the Board and senior leadership while embedding a strong culture of compliance across the organisation. The role involves leading the development and continuous improvement of the compliance strategy, overseeing regulatory reporting and monitoring activity, and offering expert advice on key regulatory areas including SMCR, Consumer Duty, and conduct risk. You will manage and mentor a high-performing compliance team, build strong relationships with regulators and external stakeholders, and support business change initiatives to ensure regulatory alignment. Throughout, you will deliver clear, commercially aware compliance guidance that supports the organisation’s long-term objectives.
What you'll need to succeed

You will have a proven track record of shaping compliance strategy, influencing senior stakeholders, and managing regulatory relationships at a senior level. Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial considerations are essential, along with experience leading and developing high-performing compliance teams.
What you'll get in return
This is a rare opportunity to join a respected and ambitious organisation where you will have genuine influence and strategic ownership. You will play a key role in shaping the compliance function and contributing to the organisation’s long-term direction. The business offers a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package, and a hybrid working model based in London. You will also be part of a supportive and collaborative leadership team that values expertise and forward-thinking compliance leadership.
