Are you an ambitious Geography specialist ready to lead a thriving department? We are currently representing a dynamic and inclusive school in Ealing that is seeking a strategic and passionate Head of Geography to join their middle leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to step into leadership or an existing Head of Department seeking a new challenge. The Role

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all Key Stages.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of a rigorous, engaging curriculum for KS3, GCSE, and A-Level.

  • Mentor and support departmental staff, conducting observations and facilitating professional development.

  • Analyze student data to track progress and implement effective intervention strategies.

  • Lead the department's fieldwork program, ensuring students have access to high-quality learning outside the classroom.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of teaching Geography at GCSE and A-Level.

  • A degree in Geography or a closely related discipline.

  • Previous experience in a leadership role (e.g., Lead Practitioner, Second in Department) is highly desirable.

  • A visionary approach to Geography education, with a passion for sustainability and social justice.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to motivate a team to achieve excellence.
