Pensions Actuarial and Consulting
Join our Pensions Actuarial and Consulting team for a ten-week summer internship. You will work alongside experienced colleagues on real client projects and learn how mathematics, data and clear communication support decisions about pension schemes.
The internship is designed for students in the penultimate year of university who expect to graduate in 2028. It will help you build analytical, consulting and workplace skills while learning more about a future actuarial career.
Previous pensions or actuarial work experience is not required.
What does the role entail?
Carry out calculations for individual pension scheme members and client organisations
Help build and check financial models using statistical methods
Review data carefully and explain your findings
Draft clear communications and supporting materials
Research business and market developments
Support client work and attend team or client meetings where appropriate
Share knowledge and ideas that help improve our service
Your responsibilities will grow as your skills and confidence develop.

Training and development
You will receive on-the-job learning and support from experienced colleagues. The internship will help you develop actuarial awareness, analytical skills, client communication, presentation experience, and confidence in a professional environment.
Length of programme
This is a ten-week fixed-term internship from Monday 28 June 2027 to Friday 3 September 2027.
Entry requirements
You must be in the penultimate year of a full-time university course
You must expect to graduate and be available to start full-time employment in September 2028
We welcome applications from students studying any subject
If you are studying a non-numerical degree, you must have achieved Mathematics at A level grade B or higher, or an equivalent qualification
You will need to demonstrate the mathematical and problem-solving potential required for the role during the recruitment process

We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position and therefore you will need to be able to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Location and working pattern
This role is based in our London office.
To support interns getting the most experience and exposure possible, the expectation is that interns work in their Isio office 5 days a week during their internship.

Your future at Isio
Our internships are designed to support progression to our graduate programmes. If you perform strongly, you may be offered a Graduate Analyst role to start after university, subject to business need, role availability, eligibility requirements and the terms communicated at that time.
On the graduate programme, you would receive support to work towards qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

We will explain what to expect before each stage. The process will assess your motivation, numerical and problem-solving skills, communication, teamwork and approach to learning. It will not assume previous pensions knowledge.
