About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its pre-construction and estimating team, working on commercial CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects across Central London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical tenders, reviewing drawings and specifications, managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries, and identifying value-engineering opportunities.

Projects typically range from £1m to £5m+ , and the role will suit an estimator with strong commercial fit-out experience who can confidently manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions for commercial CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, tender documentation and scopes of work.
• Complete detailed electrical take-offs and build labour and material allowances.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries throughout the tender process.
• Review and level subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, design risks and commercial opportunities.
• Prepare tender clarifications, qualifications and exclusions.
• Develop value-engineering proposals while maintaining specification and client requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants and clients throughout the tender process.
• Work closely with project, commercial and pre-construction teams.
• Attend tender review meetings, site visits and pre-start meetings where required.
• Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery and commercial teams.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and ensure tenders are completed within required deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator within the M&E or electrical contracting sector.
• Strong experience estimating commercial CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects in London .
• Experience working on electrical packages typically ranging from £1m to £5m+ .
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Confident completing electrical take-offs and preparing labour and material build-ups.
• Experience managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and levelling quotations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services and commercial fit-out installations.
• Good understanding of value engineering, scope-gap analysis and tender risk.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently on tenders while collaborating with wider pre-construction and operational teams.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal directly with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience using electrical estimating software would be advantageous.
