Salary: £47,271+ depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

• Producing and reviewing technical guidance documentation for In-Service Submarine Alterations and Additions, Class Modifications, and Minor Trials, ensuring adherence to all aspects of the MOD design change process KP 2.31
• Carry out investigation and review of technical design change information/proposals
• Carry out design change Safety & Environmental Assessment documentation review for both In-Service and Build community Submarines
• Provide input to training courses to support learning from experience, drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety and quality culture
• Conduct trend analysis of incidents, events and present the findings from completed investigations to identify themes and trends
• Acting as customer liaison, you will attend monthly meetings with Senior Stakeholders and provide project updates

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• A background in Mechanical/Electrical engineering
• Previous experience with Project Management controls
• A minimum of HNC qualification

Desirable:

• Experienced in CAD - Preferably SolidWorks

The In-Service Design Change Team:

As the Principal Engineer you will have the opportunity to not only work on but run and lead your own projects. You will be working autonomously and as part of a team, to help with making changes to the benefit of not only the whole department but overall Submarine programme. During your projects, you will also be able to visit In-Service Submarines in support of design change tasks and to develop your own skill set and experience. You will also have opportunities to develop yourself and build a lasting career with BAE Systems
