The Lead Delivery Manager drives end-to-end technical delivery for Currys’ Flexpay proposition, ensuring seamless integration between Currys and our lending partner. This role translates business needs into technical solutions, guaranteeing feasibility, architectural alignment and delivery within operational, regulatory and quality constraints.
Role overview:
Technical Delivery Leadership:
- Lead technical orchestration across Currys and lending partner.
- Translate product requirements into technical flows, APIs, and decision logic.
- Provide transparent reporting and escalate risks.
- Coach and support delivery teams.
Technology Alignment:
- Act as primary technical counterpart to our lending partner.
- Ensure designs and sequencing meet Currys’ architectural and operational needs.
- Resolve technical issues and dependencies.
Design Assurance & Feasibility:
- Validate proposals against store/digital processes, regulatory needs, data handling, and performance.
- Identify risks early and sponsor mitigations.
Delivery Execution:
- Coordinate cross-team delivery and roadmap sequencing.
- Align front-end, middleware, lending platform, and data components.
Risk & RAID Management:
- Escalate technical risks and recommend trade-offs.
- Ensure robust testing and integration readiness.
Supplier & Partner Management:
- Resolve technical blockers with vendors.
- Oversee quality of partner deliverables.
Cross-Functional Integration:
- Align Currys Credit, Online Product, Engineering, Lending Partner and key stakeholders.
- Steer decisions for customer outcomes and operational readiness.
Skills & Experience
Expert:
- Large-scale technical delivery (APIs, integrations, multi-system journeys).
- Credit/lending tech and JV models.
- Technical analysis, system mapping, architecture shaping.
- Multi-vendor coordination, RAID management, stakeholder engagement.
- Delivery in regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the technology landscape, trends and best practices (not just in delivery/transformation)
Advanced:
- Credit/financial services design, omnichannel integration, Agile/hybrid delivery.
- Technical readiness for peak trading.
- Technical documentation, test planning, data flows, error handling.
Requirements:
- Technical/engineering background (degree or equivalent).
- Proven experience in technical programme/delivery management.
- Strong API integration and sequencing knowledge.
- Experience with third-party financial tech providers.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desirable:
- Prince2/MSP/PMP, Scrum/Agile certifications.
- Retail or financial services experience.
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira.
