I'm currently working with a well-established building services engineering consultancy based in Bristol that is looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to its growing team.
This consultancy has been delivering innovative mechanical and electrical design solutions for over three decades , supporting clients across a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, residential, leisure, and industrial developments . Their engineers work collaboratively with architects, developers and contractors to deliver high-quality, sustainable building services solutions from concept through to completion.
The business is particularly recognised for its focus on energy-efficient design and sustainable engineering , providing expertise in areas such as low-carbon technologies, building performance modelling, lighting and power distribution, and building environmental performance .
With a strong reputation in the South West and a diverse project portfolio ranging from large education schemes and healthcare facilities to complex refurbishment projects and commercial developments , this is a great opportunity for a senior engineer looking to take a leading role in project delivery while contributing to the development of a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data and specialist systems
- Produce and review electrical calculations, reports, specifications and technical drawings
- Act as a key point of contact for clients , attending meetings and providing technical guidance
- Coordinate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee project programmes, ensuring quality, compliance and deadlines are met
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK regulations, standards and industry best practice
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers , contributing to their technical development
Requirements
- Significant experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of electrical systems design across a range of building sector projects
- Excellent knowledge of British Standards, regulations and industry guidance
- Experience with electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux or similar
- Experience working within Revit/BIM environments would be beneficial
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and manage client relationships
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Progress towards Chartered Engineer status (or interest in achieving it) would be advantageous
