Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote curiosity and a love of learning in Year 1
  • Foster a nurturing classroom environment rooted in the values of the Catholic faith
  • Support pupils’ spiritual, moral, and academic development in line with the school’s ethos
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing feedback to pupils and parents to celebrate success and guide improvement
  • Create inclusive learning experiences that meet the needs of all pupils
  • Contribute to wider school life, including liturgical celebrations, assemblies, and community events

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 , ideally in Year 1
  • A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school (Catholic faith desirable but not essential)
  • A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
  • A passion for teaching and dedication to pupil progress and wellbeing
