Accounting Implementation Specialist
We are seeking an Accounting Implementation Specialist to serve as the primary bridge between our customers' accounting integration needs and our Product team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring our customer’s successful integration of Spendesk with their accounting software, acting as a solutions expert who can translate customer requirements into actionable configurations while scaling implementation processes across the GTM organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Implementation
Analyse customer needs and identify appropriate integration solutions
Configure and set up customer Accounting software integrations, particularly for major Accounting Software in Europe
Develop product enhancement requests when existing solutions are insufficient
Design workarounds and adapt customer processes to align with functional capabilities
Technical Support & Escalation
Act as Level 2 escalation support for Accounting system integrations, between CSM Level 1 and Product Squad Level 3
Support Customer Success Managers during customer onboarding for Accounting system integrations
Provide advisory support to Account Executives/Account Managers on complex ERP connection requirements during pre-sales.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the single point of contact between Sales, Customer Success and Product teams for all integration-related matters
Participate in quality improvement conversations with product squads
Provide feedback to Product Management/Product Marketing on the quality and effectiveness of help centre materials and enablement content
Process & Knowledge Management
Create and document clear processes, recipes, and solutions for customer implementations
Build scalable implementation frameworks that can be leveraged by the broader GTM team
Maintain comprehensive documentation to enable team self-service and efficiency
What we're looking for
Must Have
1-2 years of relevant experience in roles such as Implementation Specialist, Implementation Engineer or Technical Account Management
Accounting/Finance ecosystem expertise : Understanding of accounting systems and finance tools
Process and operational mindset : Strong ability to design, document, and optimise workflows
Technical aptitude : Ability to understand data mapping, configure software systems, and set up integrations
Documentation skills : Proven ability to write clear, comprehensive processes and documentation
Language : Fluent English
Strong plus
French or German language proficiency
Hands-on experience with ERP systems or accounting software
Prior experience with Spendesk or similar spend management platforms
Skills & Competencies
Problem-solving orientation : Ability to assess customer needs and craft practical solutions
Technical acumen : Software affinity with configuration and setup capabilities (no coding required)
Customer focus : Consultative approach to understanding and addressing customer requirements
Communication : Clear, structured communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Scalability mindset : Focus on creating repeatable processes rather than one-off solutions
Collaboration : Effective cross-functional partnership with Product, CS, and Sales teams
