Visiting Music Teacher - Woodwind

We are looking for musicians who will uphold Ursuline Academy Ilford’s values and ethos which is underpinned by

Gospel values and the Ursuline motto of ‘Serviam’. Be committed to fostering an inclusive environment where music

is accessible for all. VMTs are expected to deliver high quality, enjoyable lessons, inspiring and engaging pupils of all

musical abilities across the Academy and Sixth Form.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience teaching their main instrument to grade 8 and, ideally, a second

instrument to grade 5.

Instrumental Tuition Charges:

Based on 30 minutes: Individual lessons cost £216 per term (£18 per lesson).

Based on 20 minutes: Individual lessons cost £144 per term (£12 per lesson);

Shared lessons (2 students) cost £72 per term (£6 per lesson).

our whole-school community. With a keen interest in music existing among both students and parents, and a supportive staff

community that champions musical endeavours, we are proud of our pupils’ musical achievements. Music teaching at Ursuline

Academy spans both the Secondary Academy and Sixth Form, delivered by dedicated staff who work across Key Stages.

Our young women are inspired by the witness of St Angela and the vibrant school community, whose motto ‘SERVIAM’- I will

serve, empowers us all to play our full part in society. Inspired by our Catholic foundation, the role of music is prevalent in

school life, with students regularly participating in choral singing and ensemble music-making opportunities. Our VMTs are key

to the further development of ensembles and performance opportunities within the Academy and further afield.

The department houses a suite of specialist instrumental practice rooms, recording room, department office, storage and music

room. VMTs provide lessons in a range of disciplines including voice, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, drum kit,

keyboards, piano, violin, brass and woodwind. Mass takes place in our Chapel and Main Hall, which also provides a high-quality

performance space with digital live PA for larger events.

The music curriculum at UAI is broad and balanced, offering a diverse scope of musical genres and styles, whilst incorporating

students' cultural and individual musical interests.
