Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator

We are looking for a Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator to join the London Operations team.
The role is part time 0.6FTE over three days per week and on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about heritage, community engagement, and working with volunteers, to support the London Operations team to facilitate access to and activate London's free-to-enter sites, guided tour sites and statues & monuments. The role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in volunteer management, and be part of a team that brings history and art to life for diverse audiences.
As Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator, you will support our mission by fostering strong connections between sites and their local communities. You will play a key role in the operational management of Ranger's House and all the free-to-enter, statues & monuments and hidden gem sites including H&S and will be responsible for the management of formalised partnerships (such as Local Management Agreements). You will co-ordinate activity at free-to-enter sites, statues & monuments and hidden gems, and sites managed by third parties in your region and act as a first point of contact for these sites. A key focus will be on ensuring that these sites are well cared, well presented and safe by managing programmes of site checks and compliance activity and cyclical tasks. You will work closely with local partners by proactively developing strong working relationships, reviewing contracted relationships on an annual basis and ensuring the sites in your area thrive.
To be considered as Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator, you'll need:
- Experience working in a customer focussed environment, providing high levels of service.
- Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing or working closely with volunteers or community groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An understanding of the principles of good Health & Safety management.
