We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional School Receptionist to join a welcoming primary school in Wimbledon, starting ASAP. This is a vital role for someone who enjoys being the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, while supporting the smooth running of the school office.

As the school receptionist, you will play a key role in maintaining a positive first impression, managing communications efficiently, and supporting the administrative team with daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome parents, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner

  • Answer telephone calls and emails, providing accurate information or directing enquiries appropriately

  • Manage the school reception area and ensure it is tidy and welcoming

  • Assist with school administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and record-keeping

  • Maintain and update pupil records, including attendance and contact details

  • Support the organisation of school events and appointments

  • Handle incoming and outgoing post and deliveries

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, administration, and leadership team

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

  • Promote a positive and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a school receptionist or administrative role

  • Be friendly, approachable, and professional

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be organised, efficient, and able to manage multiple tasks

  • Be IT literate and confident using office software and school management systems

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
