Principal Consultant - MMM
ROLE SUMMARY
OMD's Decisions Science team play a vital role in ensuring that clients realise the full potential of their marketing investment for maximum growth.
The Principal Consultant role is a leader within this team, with significant project and line management responsibilities as well as commercial oversight of some financial targets and annual forecasting. The successful candidate will be passionate about business consultancy and marketing analytics and will have experience leading consultative teams on projects that deliver clear, impactful insights in a way that influence client’s marketing decisions.
Principal Consultants provide direction to the team, ensuring a focus on the questions that matter to clients and that the team have the right tools and techniques to be able to deliver projects that are both valued by clients and profitable as a business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Manage client engagement, ranging from project delivery to consultancy and solutions upsell
•Develop strong relationships across senior agency contacts and clients, acting as a subject matter expert
•Lead on marketing consultancy projects, overseeing commercial targets, setting new business prospecting agenda and inputting into future growth strategy
•Drive marketing consultancy initiatives in the Advanced Analytics community, sharing and collaborating with other teams.
•Contribute to the development of new solutions and analytical approaches, as well as playing a leading role in new business and client pitches
•Help set the agenda for learning and development, recruitment and resource management
•Lead, manage and support a team, providing training and development opportunities, encouraging collaboration and setting clear direction and expectations to ensure smooth delivery and high-quality standards
•Stay updated on industry developments and competitor practices to keep the agency’s analytics offerings cutting-edge.
Skills and Experience
- You have demonstrable experience in econometrics, with ownership of projects within this field, and are able to provide the foundation for technical excellence across the team. Your knowledge of marketing analytics tools and techniques gives your team confidence in your leadership and allows the development of solutions that answer clients’ business challenges.
- You have an in-depth knowledge of R or Python, Excel and PowerPoint.
- You have a demonstrated ability to develop and execute analytics strategies that align with business objectives and client needs.
- You are skilled at data-led storytelling, and deliver compelling narrative and insight to clients.
- You are a dynamic presenter, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders both client and agency side: able to distill complex analytics into clear business values that deliver data-driven solutions.
- You have previous management experience and are confident overseeing the operational output of more junior members of the team as well as supporting their ongoing personal and professional development

Our standard working hours are 9:30 – 17:30, but we offer the ability to flex around core hours of 10:30 – 16:30 to give our people flexibility on how they manage their working day, whether that’s in the office or working remotely. For example, you could start work at 8:30 and finish at 16:30 or start at 10:30 and finish at 18:30.
