Year 2 Teacher - Brent
A popular primary school in Brent is recruiting an energetic and reflective Year 2 Teacher to join their KS1 team from January 2026. This Year 2 Teacher role in Brent will start January 2026, with a full handover and induction scheduled before January 2026 to ensure the Year 2 Teacher is ready and confident for the spring term. The successful Year 2 Teacher will plan high-quality phonics, reading and writing sequences, lead daily guided-reading groups and deliver targeted small-group tuition to accelerate progress.

• Year 2 Teacher to join a well-resourced KS1 phase delivering strong phonics and early literacy
The Year 2 Teacher will be responsible for designing engaging lessons that secure early literacy and number fluency. The Year 2 Teacher will use assessment to identify next steps, differentiate effectively and work with teaching assistants to provide scaffolded learning. This Brent-based Year 2 Teacher post offers strong CPD, collaborative planning time and supportive leadership.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver progressive Year 2 Teacher-led lessons that develop phonics, reading, writing and number sense.
Lead daily phonics and guided-reading sessions and run small-group interventions to close gaps.
Use assessment to set precise next steps and track Year 2 cohort progress across Brent.
Prepare resources and scaffold learning in partnership with teaching assistants.
Communicate learning targets and progress with families and colleagues in Brent.
Person specification
Qualified Teacher Status with recent KS1 experience and proven Year 2 outcomes.
Secure phonics knowledge, assessment literacy and confident classroom routines.
Organised, reflective and committed to working within the Brent school community.
Able to commence January 2026, attend induction and be in post from January 2026.
