Temporary Positions

A warm, proactive and engaging holiday nanny is sought to care for a 2½-year-old little girl visiting London with her family for the summer. The role is based in Battersea from July to early September and is a sole-charge position focused on supporting the child’s independence, social development and learning through play and gentle guidance. Mayfair Nannies has previously placed with this lovely returning family.

The position is 6 days per week, working from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Live-in accommodation can be provided if required, with a private bedroom and bathroom within the family home. Salary is open and dependent on experience.

The little girl is confident and independent for her age and attends a Montessori school in Riyadh. She is partly potty trained and is learning to feed herself, with a focus on developing good table manners and using cutlery. The nanny will be expected to nurture her independence in line with Montessori principles, support her learning through play and exploration, and encourage good manners and etiquette. Gentle support with potty training is welcomed if the child is emotionally comfortable. A key part of the role will be organising engaging, age-appropriate activities and outings in London, making good use of local resources and the family’s access to the Purple Dragon members’ club. The nanny should also arrange playdates and encourage positive social interactions, sharing and cooperation with other children.

The family also has a 10-month-old baby. They are hoping the baby’s current nanny will travel with them to the UK; however, if this is not possible, the holiday nanny would also be required to assist with and provide care for the baby, following the parents’ routines and guidance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with toddlers and be confident caring for babies if needed. They should be warm, calm and engaging, with a good understanding of early years development and a gentle approach to encouraging independence. Familiarity with Montessori-style childcare would be a plus, as would good knowledge of child-friendly activities and places in London. The family is looking for someone proactive, organised and socially focused, who can support the child’s development while creating a calm and positive environment.
