History Teacher – Drive KS3 Curricular Cohesion and Focus on Developing Core Disciplinary Historical Skills – Newham
A progressive and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking an experienced and dynamic History Teacher committed to driving excellence in the foundational KS3 curriculum from January 2026.
- History Teacher required from January 2026
- Newham-based school with an exceptional Humanities department and a clear focus on core skills development .
- Seeking an experienced educator with a focus on curriculum sequencing and embedding strong historical inquiry skills at KS3.
You will teach History across KS3-KS5, with a leadership focus on redesigning the KS3 curriculum to maximize student engagement and retention of core knowledge. The role requires an ability to structure complex historical narratives and lead the department's strategy on disciplinary literacy.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a relevant degree in History.
- Proven record of outstanding results in a competitive secondary school environment.
- Strong ability to plan and sequence a broad and balanced KS3 curriculum.
- Commitment to running academic extension and debate societies.
