We're currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manger - Recovery and Resolution Planning, HSBC Bank plc.

This role will present you with an ideal opportunity to sit at the centre of HSBC’s Recovery and Resolution Planning agenda within HSBC Corporate & Institutional Banking and the European Resolution Group, with real visibility and impact on how the firm prepares for stress and resolution scenarios. You’ll help shape and maintain core deliverables like the legal entity Group Recovery Plan, Resolvability Assessment Framework Self‑Assessment and governance papers for senior committees, while also driving practical capability through management actions, systems/process input, and “fire drills” to test readiness. It’s a high‑profile, cross‑functional stakeholder role (Group Recovery and Resolution Planning Office, European Resolution Group entities, finance, capital, stress testing and liquidity teams) that suits someone who enjoys complex problem-solving, influencing, and producing high-quality written outputs with scope to deputise for the Head of Recovery & Resolution Office/ European Resolution Group when needed.

In this role you'll:

  • Driving HCIB’s approach to identifying and cataloguing management actions it can take in the event of stress
  • Engaging with other functions and businesses with an emphasis on bringing to life RRP to all business areas and functions
  • Ensuring the bank is ready to respond should a stress deteriorate into recovery phase or even further into resolution as well as coordinating and supporting senior management in the bank’s response to any potential recovery or resolution event
  • Supporting submission of local resolution plans to local regulators as required and support the Group in the submission of the Resolvability Assessment Framework (RAF) self-assessment to the Bank of England (BoE)
  • Working closely with stress testing and other Treasury functions to manage RRP deliverables in line with Regulatory expectations
  • Oversee the tracking of Recovery Indicators
  • Design and execute entity “fire drills” to test recovery and resolution planning capabilities and provide assurance they work in practice
  • Serving as a subject-matter expert (SME) on recovery and resolution planning including knowledge and application of evolving internal policies and regulatory rules, knowledge of legal entity relationships, business lines, products, and balance sheets

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience working within a Bank or Consultancy firm
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
  • Recovery and Resolution Planning knowledge, experience, and skills is essential
  • Wider Treasury experience of Capital Management, Stress Testing or Liquidity Management
  • Demonstrable expertise in planning and organisation of a diverse and varied portfolio of complex tasks
  • Collaborative, engaging, credible and analytical; being able to bring the numbers to life
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority)
