We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and skilled Chemistry Teacher to join a progressive secondary school in the diverse borough of Lambeth. The Role
The school is looking for a qualified Chemistry Teacher with proven experience teaching the subject across all key stages, up to GCSE and A-Level . The ideal candidate will be adept at making complex chemical concepts accessible and engaging, fostering a love for practical experimentation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, inspiring lessons in Chemistry to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level .
- Developing and implementing a rigorous curriculum that covers organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, preparing students thoroughly for examinations.
- Planning and conducting practical laboratory work safely and effectively, ensuring a high standard of health and safety compliance.
- Monitoring student progress, providing targeted intervention, and supporting those aiming for science-related degree courses.
- Collaborating with the supportive Science department team to share best practices and contribute to the school's overall scientific achievement.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding position, you should have:
- A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level, with a strong ability to teach to A-Level .
- An excellent understanding of the UK curriculum and the ability to inspire a wide range of abilities.
- Superb communication, organizational, and laboratory management skills.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale), commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
