Key Responsibilities of the Reserving Actuary

  • Provide actuarial advice and technical support to business units across the UK and Europe
  • Deliver quarterly reserving analysis and support business planning and portfolio reviews
  • Forecast technical provisions and uncertainties for management reporting and profitability studies
  • Mentor junior actuaries and contribute to developing a culture of excellence
  • Drive process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance efficiency and insight

Desirable Skills and Requirements of the Reserving Actuary

  • Experience in actuarial reserving, ideally within general insurance
  • Strong technical knowledge and analytical capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and other actuarial or data modelling tools
