Role Overview

The AV Commissioning Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment, configuration, and optimization of complex audio‑visual systems. This position is hands‑on and highly technical, requiring strong AV engineering expertise, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and the ability to fine‑tune systems for world‑class end‑user experiences. Engineers in this role collaborate closely with project teams, designers, and programmers to ensure systems meet EOS’s high standards of quality and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

System Commissioning & Validation

• Perform on‑site testing and commissioning of AV systems to ensure full functionality and quality performance.
• Validate signal flow and connectivity across all AV components, ensuring proper routing and integration.
• Calibrate audio and video systems, including audio levels, video resolutions, and colour accuracy.
• Configure, program, and integrate AV components such as displays, projectors, audio processors, and control systems.

Technical Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during commissioning and handover to ensure seamless system performance.
• Provide operational support and training to end‑users, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and programmers to optimize system performance and user experience.
• Document configuration settings, commissioning results, workflows, and system adjustments.

Quality & Delivery Excellence

• Review and interpret AV system designs and project documentation.
• Uphold EOS’s rigorous standards for system performance, quality assurance, and customer experience.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience as an AV Commissioning Engineer or in a similar technical AV engineering role.
• Strong understanding of AV hardware and protocols such as HDMI, HDBaseT, Dante, AES67 .
• Proficiency in AV calibration techniques and use of testing tools (signal generators, analyzers, measurement tools).
• Familiarity with AV control and DSP platforms including Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC .
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
• Industry specific qualification such as CTS.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience with large‑scale AV deployments or enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in control system programming or GUI customization.
• Familiarity with AV‑over‑IP technologies and remote monitoring tools.
• Travel to client sites in Europe as required (around 75% depending on project load).
