Senior People Partner - Delivery & Construction
As Senior People Partner, Delivery, you’ll lead the people plan for our Delivery and Construction teams. You’ll partner closely with Heads of and Managers to create a plan that enables our business to grow, builds our capability for the future, and ensures a fair, safe and inclusive experience for our people.
This is both a strategic and hands‑on role. You’ll work across the full employee lifecycle – from organisation design and workforce planning, through to onboarding, development, engagement and culture.
You’ll report into our Head of People, Business Development. We’re a friendly and focused People team who pride ourselves on being trusted partners at the heart of our business. Strategic People Partnership
- Partner Heads of and Managers and advise on people strategy, organisational effectiveness, and change, providing insight and challenge to support business growth.
- Turn business strategy into practical people initiatives that improve engagement, retention, capability and performance across Delivery and Construction.
Delivery and Construction People Plan
- Develop, maintain and track a Delivery and Construction People Plan, covering capability, structure, engagement, workforce risks and future skills.
- Use people data, insights and feedback to prioritise actions and measure impact, adjusting plans in line with business performance, market trends and organisational change.
- Ensure alignment with wider People and Culture, DEI and Bauer-wide plans.
Employee Experience
- Lead people initiatives across the full employee lifecycle for Delivery and Construction, ensuring a fair, safe and inclusive experience.
- Design and oversee onboarding approaches – including “stay” conversations – that build early engagement, clarity of expectations and strong connection to our values.
- Work with leaders and managers to identify opportunities to enhance employee experience, career paths and internal mobility within our Delivery and Construction teams.
Organisation Design and Role Clarity
- Lead and advise on organisation design activity within Delivery and Construction, ensuring structures are fit for purpose, scalable and cost-effective.
- Partner with leaders to create and maintain high-quality job descriptions and role profiles that clearly define responsibilities and requirements.
- Support leaders to implement changes effectively.
Workforce Planning and Future Skills
- Lead workforce planning for Delivery and Construction, ensuring the right capability, capacity and skills are in place to meet current and future business needs.
- Use data and trends (e.g. ageing workforce, evolving digital skills, regulatory requirements (e.g. Health and Safety) to identify critical roles, succession risks and development priorities.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and leaders to design talent pipelines, training plans and reskilling strategies for future skills.
Construction Hub Expansion, Capability and Training
- Support Delivery and Construction hub expansion, ensuring people implications (structure, qualifications, skills, ways of working, leadership) are fully considered and planned.
- Work with local leaders to build hub capability, including training plans and local onboarding approaches.
- Monitor capability and performance across hubs, working with managers to address gaps and support continuous improvement.
Engagement Surveys
- Lead the creation and implementation of engagement survey/ culture action plans for Delivery and Construction, in partnership with leaders and managers.
- Use survey data and feedback to identify themes, strengths and pain points; to help leaders turn these into tangible actions with clear owners and timelines.
Case Management and Manager Capability
(in partnership with People Relations Partner)
- Work closely with the People Relations Partner on complex case management, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant handling of employee relations matters.
- Coach and upskill managers on handling tricky conversations early and effectively, supporting a culture of accountability and constructive problem-solving.
- Identify themes arising from cases and work with leaders to address root causes through training, communication or process improvements.
Leadership and Manager Development
- Partner with Heads of and Managers to understand current and future leadership capability needs within Delivery and Construction.
- Shape and support leadership and manager development initiatives including coaching, workshops, mentoring and on-the-job development.
- Build manager confidence and skill in core people practices (e.g. performance, feedback, development, inclusion, change management).

- Extensive experience in a People Partner role, ideally in operational or multi-site environment (e.g. delivery, construction, logistics, infrastructure).
- Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, able to balance commercial, operational and people considerations.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and change, with the ability to prioritise and deliver multiple initiatives.
Relationship Building and Coaching
- Ability to build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and managers, acting as both advisor and challenger.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and coaching skills, able to engage diverse stakeholders across locations and levels.
- Passionate about delivering a high-quality, inclusive employee experience and building a positive workplace culture.
Leading with Insight
- Solid understanding of core HR disciplines, including organisation design, workforce planning, performance, engagement and talent development.
- Strong grasp of people metrics, data interpretation and reporting - able to turn insight into action.
- Experience navigating employee relations in partnership with our People Relations Partner and Legal, with strong knowledge of employment law and ER best practice.
- Identify opportunities to improve people processes, toolkits and ways of working, and share best practice with our team that can be scaled across the wider business.
