About the Role
The Exams Manager will lead the planning, organisation, and administration of all examinations, ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements. You will line-manage the Exams Officer(s) and work closely with senior leadership to ensure smooth examination operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Overseeing all GCSE and A Level examination entries
• Managing exam timetables, room allocations, and staffing
• Supervising the Exams Officer and administrative team
• Liaising with awarding bodies and external exam boards
• Managing results days and post-results services
• Ensuring compliance with JCQ, internal policies, and safeguarding
The Ideal Candidate
• Significant experience managing exams in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and compliance
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
Experience in the independent sector is highly desirable.
