Visual Merchandising Lead
Role Overview:
Visual storytelling is at the heart of everything we do at Liberty, and this role is where it comes to life. We're looking for a Visual Merchandising Lead to shape and elevate our visual presentation across the store, bringing Liberty's iconic creativity, craftsmanship and attention to detail into every display.
This is a role for a visionary: someone with a sharp eye for design, a pulse on retail and cultural trends, and a passion for building immersive brand experiences that stop customers in their tracks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategy: Own and execute a cohesive visual merchandising strategy across all stores and retail touchpoints, aligned with brand identity, campaigns and events.
Manage and mentor a team of visual merchandisers, providing direction and support to deliver displays to the highest standard, in a collaborative and creative environment.
Develop visually engaging VM displays that captivate customers and elevate the shopping journey, and guide your team in bringing them to life across the store.
Plan workflows, resource the team, manage suppliers and own departmental budgeting.
Build and maintain the master critical path for VM, working cross-functionally with Marketing, Merchandising, Retail and Buying to keep every update cascaded.
Own all briefs on Monday.com, resourcing the team, keeping stakeholders informed, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Act as the central point of contact between internal teams and external brand partners, ensuring quality and timelines are always met.
Keep a finger on the pulse of VM, design and retail innovation, experimenting with new ideas, materials and technologies.
About You:
A sharp eye for detail and the ability to balance aesthetics with functionality
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident working with senior leadership and external partners
Adaptability and a results-driven mindset in a fast-paced retail environment
A collaborative, proactive approach and a passion for inspiring creative teams
Familiarity with 3D rendering tools for concept visualisation
A background in luxury retail or high-end fashion merchandising
Experience:
5+ years in visual merchandising, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity
A proven track record conceptualising, designing and executing innovative displays that align with brand identity and drive engagement
Experience managing and mentoring a VM team, with strong interpersonal and motivational skills
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) and hands-on knowledge of materials, props and merchandising techniques
Good working knowledge of Monday.com, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
A degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design or a related field is preferred
This role is full-time, in store, Monday to Friday, in line with the wider team. We sometimes require early starts ahead of trade opening and flexibility to work evenings and weekends during visual installations and peak seasons.
Liberty is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and opposes all forms of unlawful discrimination. We are committed to creating an environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive – bringing their unique perspectives, skills, and experience to everything we do.
We are dedicated to eliminating both conscious and unconscious bias from our practices. Our approach is grounded in respect, fairness, and consistency, ensuring that no one is treated less favourably based on gender, race, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, or any other protected characteristic.
