Nursery Teacher - Richmond

Marchant Recruitment
Richmond, Greater London

Location: Richmond, London
Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London)
Contract Type: Full-time

We are seeking a warm, dedicated, and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Richmond. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner or a confident Early Career Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing children with the strongest possible start to their learning journey.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Nursery class, delivering high-quality teaching in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will plan engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and independence, while supporting children’s communication, language, physical, social, and emotional development.

Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment will be central to your role. You will establish clear routines and expectations, ensuring children feel secure and confident as they explore and learn. Observation and assessment will be used effectively to track progress, identify next steps, and tailor learning opportunities to meet individual needs.

You will work closely with teaching assistants and the wider Early Years team to ensure consistent and high-quality provision. Strong communication with parents and carers is highly valued, and you will be supported in building positive relationships that support children’s development both in school and at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a nurturing and inclusive Nursery environment

  • Observe, assess, and track children’s development

  • Support children’s social, emotional, and personal growth

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and parents

  • Maintain high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in Nursery or Early Years

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework

  • A caring, patient, and reflective approach

  • Commitment to safeguarding and professional development

To be considered for this position, please forward an up-to-date CV as soon as possible.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
