DT Technician – Ensure Safe Workshop Operation and Provide Specialist Technical Support for Resistant Materials – Barking
A large secondary school in Barking requires a dedicated and highly skilled DT Technician to support the Design and Technology faculty from January 2026.
- DT Technician required from January 2026
- Barking-based school with large, well-equipped DT workshops.
- Ideal for an experienced individual with expertise in woodworking machinery and workshop maintenance .
You will be responsible for the preparation of materials and equipment for all DT lessons (KS3-KS5), including setting up and maintaining specialist tools and machinery (lathes, saws, CNC routers) and ensuring strict compliance with workshop safety regulations.
Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant experience working as a DT Technician, preferably in a school or college.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety (H&S) procedures within a workshop.
- Practical expertise in maintaining and repairing DT equipment.
- A qualification in a relevant technical field is desirable.
