About the Role
As School Receptionist, you will be the face of the school, welcoming visitors and providing essential administrative support to ensure the school office runs smoothly. You will interact with pupils, parents, staff, and external visitors, maintaining a professional and approachable presence at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the school reception area and greeting visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Handling incoming calls, emails, and enquiries from parents and external stakeholders
Maintaining accurate visitor logs and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
Supporting staff with general administrative tasks and correspondence
Managing incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
Assisting with student attendance records and basic administrative data entry
Supporting the organisation of school events, meetings, and appointments
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all communications
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in a reception, customer service, or administrative role
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
Be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and database systems
Be calm, professional, and approachable in a busy environment
Have a strong understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school setting
Experience in a school or education environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
