Interventions Teacher | Southwark

Wayman Education is recruiting an Interventions Teacher for a primary school in Southwark. The Interventions Teacher will plan and deliver bespoke intervention programmes, run targeted small-group work, track impact and adapt approaches to secure rapid progress. This Interventions Teacher role starts January 2026, with induction and handover scheduled prior to January 2026 to ensure the Interventions Teacher can begin the spring term confidently.

About the role
The Interventions Teacher will work across year groups to identify pupils needing targeted support, design short-term programmes, deliver interventions and measure outcomes. The Interventions Teacher will liaise with class teachers, SEN staff and senior leaders to align interventions with whole-school assessment cycles. Based in Southwark, the Interventions Teacher will also contribute to staff training on effective small-group pedagogy and help embed consistent approaches across the school.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-impact intervention sessions informed by assessment and pupil need.
- Track progress, produce brief impact reports and adapt intervention content to secure acceleration.
- Work alongside class teachers to transfer learning back into the classroom and to support continuity.
- Provide coaching and modelling for TAs delivering interventions and support wider CPD in Southwark.
- Coordinate referrals, contribute to review meetings and communicate outcomes with parents and leaders.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with a proven track-record of delivering small-group interventions and measurable impact.
- Skilled in assessment-informed planning, data-use and intervention sequencing.
- Calm, organised and able to work across year groups in Southwark, ready to start January 2026.
- Strong communicator who can collaborate with teachers, TAs and parents to maximise learning gains.
