School Receptionist - Brixton
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional School Receptionist to join a busy and welcoming primary school in Brixton, starting ASAP. This is a key front-of-house role, ensuring that pupils, parents, staff, and visitors are greeted warmly and that the school office runs smoothly.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos and a supportive leadership team. The Receptionist is often the first point of contact for families and visitors, so excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential. You will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth day-to-day operation of the school office.
As a School Receptionist, you will manage incoming calls, emails, and visitors, support administrative tasks, and liaise with staff and parents to ensure efficient communication. Your role is central to creating a welcoming, professional, and organised school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet pupils, parents, and visitors warmly and professionally
Answer and direct telephone calls and emails promptly
Manage daily school attendance records and visitor sign-in procedures
Support general school administrative tasks, including filing and data entry
Assist with communication between staff, parents, and leadership
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and safeguarding policies
Coordinate appointments, meetings, and school events
Provide administrative support for pupil records and reporting
Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and safe
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in a school or office reception role
Be professional, friendly, and approachable
Have excellent organisational and multitasking skills
Be proficient in Microsoft Office and school management systems
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be reliable, proactive, and adaptable
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
