Veterinary Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic and friendly team in South West London. This role is ideal for a qualified nurse who is passionate about providing high standards of veterinary care and is looking to progress their career in a supportive and progressive environment.
Location : South West London
Salary : Up to £34,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Job Type : Full-time (40 hours per week over 4 days)
Working Hours : 4 days a week, with 1:4 weekends (Time Off In Lieu for weekends worked)
As a Veterinary Nurse , you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, from supporting veterinary surgeons in surgery and providing nursing care to inpatients, to assisting in consultations, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist veterinarians in surgery, ensuring that all procedures run smoothly and safely.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients.
- Conduct nurse consultations, providing advice on pet care, nutrition, and preventative healthcare.
- Monitor anaesthetics and assist with diagnostic imaging.
- Perform clinical procedures, including blood sampling, vaccinations, and administering medications.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of patient history and treatments.
- Assist with the training and mentoring of junior veterinary staff and students.
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and clinical areas in line with practice hygiene protocols.
- Deliver compassionate care and support to both pets and their owners, ensuring a positive client experience.
Key Requirements :
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) status or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrable experience working in a veterinary practice, with confidence in handling a range of animals.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate initiative.
- Passion for animal welfare and client care.
- Ability to work 1 in 4 weekends with TOIL (Time Off In Lieu).
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
