Head of Animation

We are looking for a fantastic Head of Animation to join us to lead the animation department on our awesome slot games!

Location:  hybrid in UK, Poland or Malta.

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and manage the animation department.
• Define and drive the artistic and technical vision for all animation in our games, as well as overseeing delivery.
• Establish and maintain the animation pipeline, ensuring seamless integration with the game development process.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality storyboards and animations in all areas of the game, from characters and backgrounds to game symbols and VFX.
• Work closely with Art Leads, Game Designers, and Developers to detail goals and implement animations into the game using our editor.
• Take ownership of your team’s development to help them grow and learn.
• Optimise assets and create resource-efficient animations for mobile devices.
• Lead the recruitment of animators for the team and the studio.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Extensive experience in the slot industry, with a focus on a technical animation pipeline and of course a strong understanding of animation principles.
  
• Deep understanding of slot game mechanics and how to apply animation principles to enhance gameplay.
  
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of animators.
  
• Expert-level knowledge of skeletal animation in Spine 2D.
  
• Demonstrated experience with game engines/editors such as Unity or Unreal and how to compile animations for a game pipeline.
  
• Proficiency in other Adobe packages like Photoshop and After Effects.
  
• A confident decision-maker who is proactive in solving problems and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in animation.
