Our client is a contemporary yet historic 4 Star hotel in Central London, just a short walk from Covent Garden station and the Thames. The hotel has been refurbished to a modern and contemporary style, yet has a rich heritage dating back to the early 20 th Century.

The hotel has a bustling all-day dining restaurant, with a strong focus on quality British cuisine with international flair, and a popular afternoon tea trade. Breakfast is the busiest time of the day here, catering for up to 800 covers whilst lunch and dinner are not as busy. Afternoon teas are also a big hit here, particularly at weekends.

Staff live in accommodation is not available with this role, therefore candidates should only apply to this Pastry Chef position if they are able to commute to the Central London area on a daily basis.

What’s involved?

Working closely with the Head Chef, the Pastry Chef will be responsible for running the whole afternoon tea service – both savoury and sweet – as well as making desserts for the restaurant and events. This includes ordering, but you will have the assistance of a part-time chef to help during busy periods. You will ensure all food is prepared, cooked and presented consistently, in accordance with company standards, and that dishes

The Pastry Chef will assist in the development and preparation of menu planning, pricing and implementation of all food items as well as supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring a smooth service and that the kitchen maintains its target GP.
