Year 1 Teacher - Merton
Are you a passionate Year 1 Teacher ready to make an impact from January 2026? We are seeking an outstanding Year 1 Teacher to join a thriving school in Merton.
The successful Year 1 Teacher will lead a Year 1 class, deliver a carefully sequenced curriculum and use formative assessment to accelerate progress. This Year 1 Teacher will work closely with the phase leader and TAs to design interventions and enrichment activities. The Year 1 Teacher role in Merton includes responsibility for phonics leadership within the classroom and strong parent partnership work. The chosen Year 1 Teacher will begin in January 2026 and will be involved in term planning from January 2026. The post is based in Merton and the Year 1 Teacher will enjoy supportive leadership and tailored CPD.
Key responsibilities (Year 1 Teacher):
• Plan and deliver high-quality Year 1 lessons as the Year 1 Teacher.
• Track and report progress for Year 1 pupils — core to the Year 1 Teacher role.
• Lead small-group support and liaise with families as the Year 1 Teacher.
Requirements:
• QTS/PGCE with recent Year 1 experience as a Year 1 Teacher.
• Strong behaviour management and assessment skills for the Year 1 Teacher.
• Able to start January 2026 and be based in Merton.
