About the programme
On our Economics scheme, you’ll actively contribute to economic analysis, policy development, research, and strategic advice, building expertise to assess market trends and support effective financial regulation.
Across your rotations, spanning teams such as policy, research, and supervision, you’ll deepen your economic knowledge and provide rigorous analysis to help the FCA deliver on its strategy. Your first two rotations will be confirmed before you join, your career goals and interests will be considered when your final rotation is selected, aiming to support your aspirations and the FCA’s strategy.
To apply for this programme, you will need to have or be studying towards a degree in Economics.
You’ll develop core skills in judgement, engagement, self-management, and delivery, supported by mentoring and opportunities to learn from senior leaders. Your work will directly inform regulatory decisions, helping to protect consumers and ensure market integrity.
This programme will prepare you for roles in the Economics profession.

Only one application is accepted across our early careers programmes within any six-month period.
You must have obtained or be on track to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree from any university.
Applicants for the 2026 graduate programme must have graduated or be in their final year of study.
Graduate scheme offers are subject to candidates independently obtaining and maintaining permission to work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
