About the Role:

We are recruiting a Design Manager to take ownership of the design process across multiple construction and fit-out projects. Working closely with project, commercial, and site teams, the Design Manager will be responsible for coordinating consultants, managing design information flow, and ensuring designs are fully coordinated, compliant, and deliverable on site.

This role requires a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to balance programme, cost, and quality while acting as the key link between design and construction.

Responsibilities:

Manage the design process from early concept through to construction and handover

Coordinate external consultants, designers, and specialist subcontractors

Control design programmes, deliverables, and information release schedules

*

Review drawings and specifications for buildability, compliance, and risk

*

Manage design change and ensure impacts on cost and programme are understood

Lead design workshops, reviews, and coordination meetings

*

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, employer’s requirements, and brand or client standards

*

Support planning, tender, and pre-construction activities with technical input

*

Work closely with project and site teams to resolve design issues during construction

*

Maintain accurate design records and document control throughout the project lifecycle

*

Assist with value engineering while protecting design intent and quality

*

Support handover requirements including as-built information and O&M inputs
