Drama Teacher - Independent School in the West Midlands
A superb opportunity has arisen for a Drama Teacher to join a well-regarded independent school near Birmingham. This is a full-time position to begin in January, teaching across KS3–KS5 (GCSE and A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies). The successful candidate will join a creative and forward-thinking Performing Arts faculty and play an active role in the wider cultural life of the school.

Drama is a flagship subject within the school, with consistently strong results. In 2023, 79% of GCSE pupils achieved grades 7–9 in Drama, while 83% of A-Level candidates secured A*–B. The school stages a wide variety of productions each year in its modern theatre, ranging from Shakespeare and musicals to original student-devised performances. Pupils are also encouraged to pursue LAMDA qualifications, theatre trips, and participation in local and national arts festivals.
Requirements
• Qualified Drama Teacher with QTS (PGCE, QTLS or equivalent considered)
• Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach across GCSE and A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies
• Experience directing productions and leading extracurricular drama desirable
• Enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about inspiring pupils through performance and the arts
• Legal right to work in the UK
Salary & Benefits
Paid to scale on MPS/UPS, with additional independent school enhancements available for experienced candidates. Boarding staff may be eligible for accommodation.
