Assistant Underwriter – Nuclear Insurance
Our client is looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join a specialist Nuclear Insurance team, supporting the underwriting of complex and highly technical risks within a unique and evolving market.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing UA/AU experience in a Nuclear Insurance environment who is looking to deepen their technical expertise and build a long-term career in this niche sector.
The role will involve:
Supporting senior underwriters in the assessment, underwriting and servicing of nuclear insurance risks.
Assisting with the preparation of underwriting information, risk presentations and policy documentation.
Analysing technical and financial data to support risk selection and pricing decisions.
Managing broker and client communications, ensuring high levels of service and responsiveness.
Maintaining accurate records, compliance documentation and underwriting files in line with regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience as a Underwriting Assistant or Assistant Underwriter within a Nuclear Insurance team (this is essential).
A genuine interest and passion for the nuclear sector , including nuclear energy, infrastructure and associated risks.
Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
The ability to work collaboratively within a specialist underwriting team.
Good communication skills and confidence dealing with brokers and internal stakeholders.
This role would suit someone who is not only technically capable, but truly engaged with the nuclear market and motivated by working in a highly specialist, intellectually challenging area of insurance.
