Financial Accountant

The Role
We are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented financial accountant to become a key member of our vibrant Finance team at Palatinate Group. This role is essential to our financial operations, where the chosen candidate will be instrumental in delivering timely and precise management reporting. Additionally, the role will include preparing statutory accounts and ensuring thorough tax compliance across various entities. The perfect candidate will possess a sharp eye for detail and showcase a strong commitment to upholding exceptional standards of accuracy and integrity in all financial activities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Take complete ownership of crafting the monthly management accounts for five Group companies.
- Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations to ensure precise financial reporting.
- Steer the annual budgeting process while actively assisting in ongoing re-forecasting initiatives.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns with attention to detail.
- Assist in the preparation of corporation tax returns, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Deliver accurate and insightful financial reports and analyses to empower informed decision-making.
- Maintain company secretarial records and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
- Work closely with the Head of Finance to drive process improvements and develop financial strategies.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support the Finance team and the broader organization.

- Guarantee prompt financial reporting and plays a key role in budgeting and strategic decisions
- Uphold tax compliance and provides insightful financial analysis to drive business performance
- Implement process improvements and strengthens internal controls in collaboration with essential stakeholders
- Play an active part in boosting operational efficiency and advancing growth initiatives throughout the Group
What We’re Looking For:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience using Xero financial software is essential.
- Industry experience in travel and/or hospitality is desirable.
- Solid technical understanding of VAT and corporation tax compliance.
- High attention to detail, with a proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable working independently and liaising with senior stakeholders across the business.
