About the Role
VFX has built a market-leading Payments and Alternative Banking offering, and as client demand continues to scale, we’re hiring an ambitious Commercial Manager to support the next phase of our growth.
This is the first dedicated sales hire within the Global Payments & Alternative Banking team, giving you a genuine seat at the table as we scale. You’ll focus on opening doors, qualifying opportunities, and building early-stage pipeline, working closely with the Managing Director – Global Payments & Alternative Banking. Alongside owning prospecting, discovery, and qualification activity, you’ll receive hands-on support across proposals, pricing, and deal progression.
The role is intentionally flexible and highly visible. As we refine our go-to-market strategy, target sectors and client profiles will evolve, and you’ll play an active role in shaping where we focus. Beyond building pipeline, you’ll help influence how our proposition is positioned, contribute directly to defining our long-term ideal client profile, and support decisions on how we take the offering to market.

What You’ll Be Doing
Opening doors and building pipeline
Prospecting new clients through outbound outreach, introducers, and industry events.
Qualifying opportunities and understanding where VFX can deliver the most value.
Adapting your focus as we experiment and refine our target markets.
Owning the sales journey
Managing the full sales cycle from first conversation to client go-live.
Running consultative discovery conversations to understand client needs and pain points.
Working with senior colleagues on proposals, pricing, and closing strategy.
Working cross-functionally
Partnering closely with Compliance, Product, and Marketing to deliver a smooth client experience.
Feeding client insights back into product development and messaging.
Helping shape how we sell as the team and proposition scale.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned, in line with the scope of the position, as reasonably required to support business and operational priorities.

What We’re Looking For
Experience
2+ years’ experience in B2B sales.
Exposure to Payments, FX, or financial services is strongly preferred.
Experience running consultative sales processes with complex clients.
A track record of building pipeline and progressing opportunities.
Skills
Strong prospecting and relationship-building capability.
Commercially minded with the ability to understand and articulate value.
Comfortable with both face-to-face meetings and remote selling.
Able to manage multiple opportunities and navigate longer sales cycles.
Confident working with evolving products and propositions.
