Cluster Crafts Artist-In-Residence Open Call
Description
We launched the second edition of the Cluster Crafts Artist Residency - a fully supported programme designed to nurture materially driven, craft-led practices.
The residency offers:
- A fully funded, live-work residency in East London
- A private studio space (approx. 100 sqm across two floors) with abundant natural light
- Tailored 1:1 mentorship with leading industry professionals
- Production support, including materials and technical guidance where possible
- Accommodation and living support, enabling full focus on practice
- A final presentation integrated into Cluster’s exhibition programme, alongside continued visibility across our platform
Following a highly successful first edition, we are excited to open this next chapter. Our first Artist-in-Residence, Toni Losey, has since successfully completed the programme, marking a strong and promising foundation for what this residency can offer.
Alongside this, we have worked with an inspiring network of mentors and contributors, including Brian Kennedy, Varuna Kollanethu, Angel Monzon, among others.

At Cluster, we are actively rethinking how artists are supported beyond traditional institutional frameworks. This residency is designed as a flexible, practice-led environment, where each programme is shaped around the selected artist’s needs—encouraging experimentation, material exploration, and meaningful industry connection.
