AWFC Academy Technical Coaches (Casual Role)

Arsenal Football Club
London

The Role

We are looking for a number of Academy Technical Coaches on a casual basis for Arsenal Women Football Club . The roles are responsible for delivering an effective coaching programme for players aged 7-16 years old in the Girls Youth Academy and will support the development of the players through innovative planning, delivery and management of training sessions and match days.

Who we are

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success – read more about our history, here .

Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We are committed to ensuring that our environments for children, young people and adults at risk remain safe and inclusive. We therefore require successful candidates to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks prior to starting their employment. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, a DBS will be either a basic, standard, or enhanced check.

Your day-to-day

  • Oversee our coaching programme - you'll plan, deliver, and review a holistic coaching programme in line with the Academy Technical Programme for goalkeepers and/or outfield players

  • Uphold our high standards - you will ensure high standards of Coach delivery to support the long term player development of all players within the age group

  • Deliver impactful training programmes - you'll work closely with other age group Coaches to deliver appropriate individual training programmes

  • Provide matchday support - you will attend all matches and assist with matchday management of all fixtures against boys grassroots/academy teams as well as other PGA's, both home and away

  • Collaborate with wider team - you'll liaise with a multidisciplinary support team (e.g. Medical, Physical Performance, Education, Sports Psychology & Talent ID) when planning and delivering coaching sessions and matches

  • Capture insightful data - you will ensure all relevant information is recorded fully using appropriate club processes

  • Conduct player reviews - you will take pride in carrying out performance reviews, in line with the requirements of our club, and deliver feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required

  • Adhere to safeguarding practices - you will ensure safeguarding requirements as outlined in our safeguarding policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults

What we are looking for

  • Background in academy coaching - you come with experience of coaching youth academy players (7-16 years) and a history of mentoring and developing other Coaches

  • Knowledge of and passion for the Women's game - you've got an understanding of the FA Women's and Girls player pathway and a knowledge of the standard of players required our club

  • Credible expertise - you hold a UEFA C Licence and are working towards UEFA B / FA Level 3, and you also are a FA Licensed Coaches Club Member with an FA Youth Award

  • Certifications in safeguarding and first aid - you have an up to date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate and a FA Emergency Aid Qualification ( FA Basic First Aid for Sport Qualification (BFAS) or FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football)

  • Forward-thinking mindset - you're well informed on long term player development and how to help young players to evolve their game and thrive, and you build exceptional rapport with players and have an ability to set realistic goals and encourage players to excel

  • Best-in-class communication skills - you are a dynamic and confident communicator, able to adapt style and approach as necessary

  • Champion for equality, diversity and inclusion - you demonstrate commitment to inclusive pathways and positive experiences for girls and young women from a diverse range of backgrounds

  • Advocate for safeguarding and health and safety - you assist in creating and supporting safe environments for our participants to engage in and take action to share any concerns for them

Position of Trust - As someone in a position of trust role involving regular, direct contact with children or vulnerable adults you will be expected to uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm. This role requires you to keep updated with both Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.

Arsenal for Everyone
