School Business Manager - Southwark
A thriving school in Southwark is recruiting an experienced School Business Manager to start January 2026. The successful School Business Manager will take overall responsibility for finance, HR, premises and procurement, ensuring robust systems and timely management information for senior leaders and governors. As School Business Manager, you will prepare management accounts, lead budget-setting and monitoring, and drive cost-effective operations across the school. This School Business Manager role is central to long-term planning, compliance and day-to-day financial control.

The appointed School Business Manager will be expected to begin in January 2026, supporting the school through the next financial cycle and contributing to strategic planning from January 2026. The School Business Manager will manage payroll, pensions and supplier contracts, oversee health & safety and premises maintenance, and line-manage the finance and administrative teams. We are looking for a pragmatic School Business Manager with strong systems experience and excellent communication skills to liaise with the Headteacher, governors and external auditors.

• Oversee payroll, pensions and supplier management as the School Business Manager.
• Manage premises, contracts and compliance as the School Business Manager.

Person specification: proven track record as a School Business Manager, strong financial controls knowledge, experience of school systems, ability to start January 2026, and a commitment to excellent operational delivery in Southwark.
