Head of Science (Biology Focus) – Lead Academic Specialism and Drive High-Level STEM Success – Hackney
A prestigious , independent senior day school in Hackney is seeking an exceptional Head of Science with a Biology specialism to lead their highly academic faculty from January 2026.

This senior leadership role involves setting the strategic direction for all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), teaching A-Level Biology to high-ability students, and overseeing curriculum quality across the entire faculty. You will mentor departmental heads and ensure rigorous academic standards and exceptional practical provision.
Experience and Qualifications
- QTS (or equivalent) and a degree in Biology (Masters or PhD highly desirable).
- Proven experience leading a Science faculty with demonstrably high academic outcomes.
- Extensive experience with the Oxbridge/Russell Group application process for Medicine/Science.
- Capacity for inspiring leadership , curriculum strategy, and budget management.
