  • Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos, according to established recipes and standards.
  • Grind coffee beans, tamp the grounds, and operate espresso machines to extract quality shots of espresso.
  • Steam and texture milk to create silky-smooth foam for latte art and consistent milk-based beverages.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about coffee, ingredients, and menu items.
  • Recommend and upsell additional products, such as pastries or specialty coffee blends, to enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including brewing equipment, countertops, and display cases.
  • Restock supplies and ensure that inventory levels are sufficient for daily operations.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines and maintain proper food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Handle cash and operate the cash register/ card machine accurately for transactions.
  • Stay updated on new coffee trends, brewing techniques, and industry developments to provide the best possible service to customers.
  • Attend all location management meetings as required
  • Take responsibility for contributing towards your own development with the guidance of the Hospitality Manager / General Manager and attend training courses as identified
  • Attend to any reasonable request made by the client or BaxterStorey Management.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to clients and guests, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.
  • Assist with the setup and arrangement of event venues, including tables, chairs, decorations, and other equipment, as per the client's requirements.
  • Help with the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages during meeting/events, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Work closely with the catering team to coordinate meeting/event logistics, ensuring all aspects of the catering service are executed smoothly and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the food preparation and service areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory control, including monitoring stock levels, replenishing supplies, and reporting any discrepancies or shortages.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, providing necessary information and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with the catering team, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of services.
  • Assist with post-meeting/event cleanup tasks, including the removal of waste, packing equipment, and returning the venue to its original state. Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to process orders accurately.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and service areas regularly.
  • Ensure the café's cleanliness and tidiness by sweeping, mopping, and taking out rubbish.
