Year 6 Teacher - Wandsworth - January 2026 start
Are you an experienced Year 6 Teacher who can lead a class through upper-KS2 with ambition and care? A successful primary school in Wandsworth is recruiting a confident Year 6 Teacher to join the upper-KS2 team from January 2026.
The Year 6 Teacher will design sequenced lessons that consolidate curriculum knowledge, lead focused revision and booster programmes, and support smooth transition into secondary school. This Year 6 Teacher role in Wandsworth combines classroom leadership with assessment management and strong parental liaison. Induction and handover will be provided prior to January 2026 so the Year 6 Teacher can begin the spring term ready to lead learning.
Role responsibilities
- Teach rigorous Year 6 lessons that balance curriculum coverage, reasoning and exam technique.
- Lead and evaluate targeted booster sessions to close gaps and raise attainment across the cohort.
- Coordinate transition arrangements with secondary partners and prepare comprehensive handover materials.
- Use assessment data to set clear next steps, monitor progress and report outcomes to leaders and parents.
- Contribute to phase moderation, curriculum planning and enrichment activities across Wandsworth.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with strong upper-KS2 experience and a record of positive Year 6 outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, able to plan and run targeted programmes.
- Calm, resilient and able to support pupils’ wellbeing during a high-stakes year in Wandsworth.
- Available to commence January 2026, and to take part in induction and pre-term planning before January 2026.
